My happiness as a young black woman totally is in my hands. I just don't fit into this mode that you assume all blacks are in. I don't have any children, am a college graduate, and have a great job which I am able to travel to the East/West coast and states in between frequently for the company which I work for. My paternal grandfather are both from Mississippi where they worked hard all of their lives, earning legal descent living while raising their 6 kids. My grandmother was a maid for a white lady going to work for her on time as scheduled everyday. She took pride in her work and when she decided to stop working Ms. Jane (her boss) begged her not to knowing she and her family would miss the tidy impeccable work my grandmother did. My grandfather worked in at a welding company. Between the both of them they sent all of their children to college except 2 and those 2 excel in other careers. All of their children, my aunts and uncles graduated. Keep in mine that during this time which was the early 60's there were only a handful of blacks even having the thought of an education. They could have easy convinced their children to be maids and welders as they had been; but they knew of a better way. They pushed and paid for every childs education; no welfare no hand outs. They knew that by them being black by then that they already had a strike against them and they knew that they'd have to work extra hard to even make what an uneducated white man would back then. Knowing that nothing worth having would be presented on a platter. All of my uncles and aunts are doing well my cousin is Vice-President of a bank in Georgia and another one is a Pediatrician all because of what was enstilled in us. We don't do drugs, have babies outside of wedlock, nor do anything illegal. We weren't lucky but we were blessed to have the parents that these kids need today. I say all of this to say my happiness depends upon me and my Lord. I don't have time to milk the system or find a way to beat it. When you do right right will follow. All blacks are not looking to caucasians for confirmation.

After reading your entire post I have a few disagreements with you on certain things, but my overall reaction is good for you and your family. You are not among the black community that I was refering to. Perhaps my earlier post seemed like I was using a broad brush to paint all blacks the same. I had hoped that by me saying that "some get it and some don't" that readers would understand that I wasn't refering to every black person. I don't think our races will ever see eye to eye completely. For that matter, white liberals and white conservatives don't see eye to eye. He's a crap stirrer, but it amazes me how he gets pics and docs to put up on his site. Where does he get that stuff from is my question. It's like he gets good evidence (sometimes) and then puts a negative spin on it against law enforcement. And then other times he's just wrong. I learned of this blog through a initially post I read by Anti-Thad. Some views of Anti-Thad I agree with & some I don't & that pretty much goes the same for Thaddeus as well. I think Thaddeus has that "don't mess with me or else" streak. Pretty no non-sense. I can't lie he calls it for how he sees it. That's just him. I listen to his show when I can during my drive home. He knows how to work the system to get what he wants/need (pictures, documents). I don't know how he's able to get it. Alot of times I hear him say "public records" & I do know alot of times you're able to find documents per internet, downtown, & sometimes it's just a matter of who you know. If one knows that they can give you a document to expose someone whom they feel needs to be exposed without them themselves being exposed then they may consider doing it. I've noticed that when he has made an agreement with someone or when it's an understanding to keep hush hush on the informant he will. I got that from when he was talking about Police Director L. Godwin. We would always read about what was going on but never who it came from.

What state did you live in up North? I know!!!!(Downey,Jr) I used to watch him with my dad at night when I lived in MS. Wasn't his show based in New Jersey? Jerry Springer was so funny (and I believe the stories) during his first couple of years on the air. During that time (94-95) I don't believe any show was doing what he was doing. I used to stay up late just to get a laugh watching his show and I used to love his commentaries at the end of the show.
I grew up in Michigan, and moved down here from Maine. I lived in a few other places in between when I was in the military. Downey's show did seem to be out of NJ, or maybe NY, I can't remember exactly. Seems like I watched it in the 80's when I lived in Maine though. I moved here in 86. Could it have been that you were watching his reruns in the 90's? I didn't think he had that good of a run from the early 80's to the mid 90's. I could be wrong...I was wrong about something once...lol. Do you believe that all of Springer's shows are for real, or that they hire actors? I just can't believe that there are that many stupid people in this country...where do they find them all? I was watching Morton Downey I believe sometime during 89-91. When I was commenting on the dates of 94-95 I was referring to Jerry Springers. I believe when Jerry S. first came on the air that his guest where real (93, 94 & 95 sometime around there), but now I know they can't possibly be real. I think alot of people get on Jerry's show just to get a free plane ride & a free night's stay in a hotel. I like watching Maury to when he says "you are not the father" too funny especially when these girls have been on the show 5, 7, & 8 times.

It was corny and unbelieveable, just made me wonder why he changed the theme of the show...probably ratings. Montel could really raise his ratings with the help of Sylvia Brown..something like a theme of "harassment from the other side." Example:

I'm a conservative. Neither the dems or repubs seem to be conservative anymore, although the repubs are much closer to it than the dems. The dems are socialist liberals who want to redistribute wealth...yours and mine, and give it to those who sit at home for a living. They also want you and I to pay for their medical and dental. The conservative approach to these people are to help them out, but put them to work doing something for what they get. While McCain is a repub, he is to liberal for most conservatives, but is a lesser of an evil. As far as gas prices being the fault of Bush, I guess you can blame it on him, everybody blames everything bad in their life on him anyway...lol. If a bird craps on your car it must be Bush's fault..lol. As far as Iraq goes, we went in the because of the intelligence we had at the time. I can't lie Mr. White I do blame him everytime I fill my tank up which used to cost $53.00 with plus gas.....now it's $66.00 and that's with a stepdown of regular. I have heard a lot of people say, "remember when clinton was in office" they say as if "those where the good old days." Actually I was in college during his time in office. Don't you think our troops have been over in Iraq long enough. I think it is just a shame that they are still there. There was a special that came on HBO a few weeks ago about the lives of some of the troops once they came back home. I didn't get the name of this show (I know I can find it on the web) however it was hosted by the man who plays the character "Tony Soprano". What about weapons of mass destruction where they found? I agree wholeheartedly that the black family fell apart during the 60's & 70's. For awhile (some months) I've tried to project exactly when did this happened. It seems as if during slavery black families where more intune with what a family really was suppose to be about although they may not have had the material things they wanted a major source in black home was love, simply wanting to work, and put food on the plate period. Blacks at that time where more content with making the little money they did make and not stepping on the white man's toes. At this time there weren't any black gangs, black crimes or alot of drug usage if any going on. During the 50's &
60's blacks began becoming more concern with equal rights and what don't get me wrong some did fight for justice & once they had it they got an education, excelled, & provided a productive lifestyle for themselves and their children however we have those that didn't. I really believe that during the 70's things fell apart. Drugs came on the scene as a fast way to make money. Black gang-bangin became more of a way of life (crips, bloods) especially on the west coast spreading throughout the US & with that once again drugs, crime & what not wa s on the rise. As the article stated single families began becoming the norm; so by the late 80's & early 90's the teens or young blacks that we have today are just casualities/products of single families with no motivation & taking for granted life, which has started a domino effect in the community.

I'm glad you took a min to read the article but you failed to address the issue that I had hoped you would...remember the topic is politics, although I see where you would be particularly interested about how it has affected black heritage. What I would like to point out to you in particular is the difference betweem Dem and Repub values, beliefs and life style. This is what that article said about the differences which is clearly correct:

The Bible refers to homosexuality as an abomination to God, but we have states legalizing gay marriage...democratic states, not repub states. How far are the liberals willing to get away from God? First, same sex and then the pedophile liberals will push for underage marriage. Groups like MANBLA already are in place waiting to spread there perverse views upon the world. These are liberal democrats Ms. Black...the same party you are aligning yourself with.
Now on a serious note about Bush being responsible for our gas crunch. He has tried to drill for oil in new places for along time. Liberal activists and dems have voted against him tooth and nail since he has been the president.

My mother whose a republican voted for Bush & she reminded me during the last election campaign that 1 of the reasons she voted for him was because Kerry was for gay marriages & Bush flat out was against it. I was raised totally by biblical standards (first Catholic in my youth & then Church of God in Christ as I grew older) therefore I don't go along with the liberals views of "make it up as you go.......". Although I see what you are saying about how I am aligning myself with liberal democrats. I am sitting here thinking now.... am I a really a Republican after all like momma? My thoughts are like those of Conservatives being totally against same-sex marriages which needless to say I'm outraged by California.

I think you're the person that I "chose" to communicate with for the last week or two because I could tell that you have the class, conscientiousness and give a damn that a true conservative has. You're focused on right and wrong, but need a little more influence and direction. Your mother obviously has done her homework. She has seen what the dems have done to the black community. Promise them more than they can deliver at voting time and leave them out to dry after the voting is done. She has obviously worked hard in her life and has been taxed to death so that those who choose to stay home for a living can get a free check. It's not about left (dems) and right (repubs), it's about right and wrong. While Iraq sucks, and both sides agree on that, we can't just up and leave now while we are making a difference and destroying terrorists that would follow our troops back to our own soil and kill us anyway they could. You have to maintain focus. Why did we go over there in the first place? WMD's? We have found some, but the majority of them got moved while we tried UN diplimatic diplomancy..in other words they moved the stuff during negotiations. But lets say there never were none for the sake of conversation. Is it not true that that's where Alquida and the Talaban are? Is that not where the terrorists that want to kill your family and mine are? Is that not where Sadam had death squads and rape chambers to torcher thousands of people? Hell ya it is!! All of the above are true. Do I think that we should be getting some free oil for everything we've done there? Hell ya I do! But guess why we're not? Because dems would say that the war was all about oil in the first place to try and disgrace Bush. So again, thanks to the dems and their agenda we have no more oil to make into gasoline. Just a thought.
